Esther's life unraveled shortly after she gave birth. Her husband abandoned her, locked the house they had been renting, and seized their belongings; leaving her with nothing but a newborn to raise. When she asked her parents for help, they turned her away. Despite the difficulties she was facing, she made a courageous decision to enroll in Pamoja Foundation's sewing training. The training instilled in her confidence, purpose, and hope. It gave her new skills, and she began earning an income. She has since saved 15,000 BIF and can now provide basic necessities for herself and her child. Her relationship with her parents has also been restored. They now help care for her child while she pursues her education. Today, Esther envisions a future with an education, meaningful work, and a better life for her child.

When Fébronie lost her husband, she suddenly found herself raising five children alone.
